Slings and Arrows

In Slings and Arrows Echenique converts the mundane and ubiquitous Amazon logo into something new. Working upon flattened cardboard boxes and surrounding the arrow with barcodes and packing tape—maintaining a typical context—heightens the logo’s invisibility. Blending in a curious environment enhances concealment by other means. A mounting recognition of what’s being seen triggers moments of surprise and mystery inviting engagement into the perils of our blindness.
