Travelers
A found bicycle that clearly spent time in the sea, pair-less shoes lost in the frantic moments of landing, boat pieces, fishing net and live plants are the resonant components of Travelers. The piece was created and installed in summer 2019 on the island of Lesvos, Greece, an entrée to Europe for people traveling from war-torn countries seeking security and opportunity. With these people in mind (and visible on the island) and those fleeing equally terrifying violence in Central America, "Travelers" evokes the passage, resilience and hope of displaced people.

France 2019
In July 2019 I spent a couple weeks on a property in the south of France. Deep in the Cahor wine region, surrounded by vineyards, I worked with found materials creating installations along a wooded path. Naturally, wine-making detritus was available: barrel wood, rings and rusted wire captured my attention.
