I make functional art: tables, chairs and work suitable for the outdoors using recycled and found objects: corks, driftwood, tile, bottle caps among other things. All of the work is meant to be used. As with assemblage one of the challenges is figuring how to assemble the piece in an interesting way while keeping it structurally sound. It’s a puzzle requiring both physical exertion and mental reflection.
