Dance Lesson was commissioned by a high school dance teacher. She wanted a piece with a "dance theme". I'm willing to do commissions with such vague parameters. For my part, I give commissioners the option not to buy the piece if, in the end, it's not what they want. In this case both the artist and the buyer were very happy with the final painting.
